The Carlton City Council is not enforcing Dog Licensing. The City Council would still like all dogs to be licensed to help return them to their home if they are found. The remainder of City of Carlton Ordinance Chapter 5, Part 3 is still in effect.

Your animal can be licensed at the Clerk’s Office.  There is no cost for this voluntary licensing. Please bring proof of current rabies vaccination and proof of spay/neutere.

If you should have any questions, regarding this matter please feel free to contact the City Clerk’s Office at 218-384-4229 or stop by the City Hall, located at 310 Chestnut Avenue.

The City of Carlton feels strongly that persons be allowed  to have their pets, but that this must be done in a manner as not to annoy or endanger the safety of  others.  Thank you for keeping your pet in a way that is in harmony with this philosophy.
